This (2018-2019) is my 32nd year of teaching 3rd grade at SCS!! (Where did the time go!?!) In the past few years, I have reached the point of teaching children of former students! What a blessing to see the heritage of Christian education being passed along through the generations. Even though I am teaching the same grade level in the same room in which I started, it never grows old. No two days are the same, and I enjoy the daily joys and challenges that are part of a day at school. When I'm not busy at school, I am often involved in the worship ministry at my church, including playing the piano and organ. I also enjoy crafts, reading, and playing board and card games. It is a privilege and a blessing to be a part of the SCS family!

The skills are organized into categories, and you can move your mouse over any skill name to see a sample question. To start practicing, just click on any link. You will be allowed 20 "free" problems per day. If you become a paying member, IXL will track your score, and the questions will even increase in difficulty as you improve!
This is a free resource for teachers, parents, students, and homeschoolers. The math worksheets are randomly and dynamically generated by math worksheet generators. This allows you to make an unlimited number of printable math worksheets to your specifications instantly.
**This is certainly not an exhaustive list of all of the available online resources. These are just the ones that I have taken the time to look at and that seemed to be done well. I hope that this list is a fun and useful tool for you and your child.
This website is designed with teachers in mind. However, if you are looking for reading practice along with comprehension questions, etc., this site will do that for you. There are many stories/selections available along with questions for follow-up.
News for kids. Scholastic publishes a news magazine that classrooms can order. However, even if you haven't ordered the magazine, you can still have access to some of their stories online. Some fun, interesting articles!
National Geographic KIDS is a great resource at a kid level! Your budding scientist will love the many topics that are covered online. Other stories from around the world are included. There are ads on the tops and bottoms of the pages, asking you to subscribe to one of their magazines, but a subscription is not necessary to view some of the great stories online.
This article gives some great ideas for working with children who struggle with reading or just don't like it very much. The article was originally written for teachers to implement in the classroom. However, many of them would also work for parents helping their children at home. The ideas would also work for children who enjoy reading but are looking for other ways to enjoy their reading experience.
My classroom ordering code is GYMML. Use this when you register to order online. Ordering online gives you access to more titles and more options than the items found in the catalog pages that are sent home. So, if you are looking for a specific title or series, you can search here for it.
**If you see something on the Scholastic website that you'd like to order, feel free to do so, even if I have not sent home an order form. I will get the order sent off for you. :)
