    High School Math Teacher
Where are you from? I was born in Lebanon, OR, but moved to Orange City, IA when I was 10 years old. I have spent the last two years living in Ames, IA.  Tell us about your family! I am the fifth child of 6 kids. I have 2 sisters, 3 brothers, 1 brother-in-law, 1 sister-in-law, 2 nephews, and 2 nieces.  What was your school like growing up? I went to Unity Christian HS in Orange City, IA. I had roughly 90 students in my class. Why do you like teaching Math? I look forward to teaching high school math, because it gives me the opportunity to interact with students. Unlike other subjects, math is straightforward and the concepts follow logically.  What do you like to do when you aren’t teaching? In my free time I like to exercise and read. Another hobby of mine is bowling.  What’s your favorite Bible story and why? 2 Samuel 6:22a, "I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes." This is David's response to Michal after she criticizes him for dancing in the streets after the return of the ark of the covenant. The verse resonates with me because I have very minimal skills in singing and music, but before the Lord I will bring my best regardless of what others think of it.  What’s your favorite snack? Peanut butter filled pretzels.
